Ashley Turns 4

Our sweet little princess is 4 years old as of 5/28/2008 - can you believe it? We can't. It seems like just yesterday we were cuddling her and protecting her from the aggressive love of her 3-year-old brother Peyton. Now we have to protect Peyton from Ashley! Just kidding - it's pretty much an even battle these days.
Ashley is our baby and always will be. It's good to know that when Jenny feels like she wants another baby she can just visit her sisters-in-law. Sounds like Brandi has a little bun in the oven as I type - I can't wait!

McCall Weekend

We spent last weekend at our new house in McCall for Mother's Day and Jenny's birthday (31, if you must know). We enjoyed our time together just playing and relaxing - I don't think that will ever get old. The snow is melting and there are patches of mud everywhere. Peyton found a baseball park within walking distance and Charley loved running through Ponderosa State Park--so much so that Charley and Jeff came home with ticks. Ewww! The kids and I escaped unharmed. Those things are disgusting - good thing I have Jeff, my Eagle Scout, to hold the match to the little thing and make it crawl out of your skin. I told you it was disgusting.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! Here are two good reasons it's great to be a mommy, but I couldn't do it without my wonderful mommy, mother-in-law, grandmas, sisters, aunts, and other wonderful women who serve as role models. Thank you for making me a better mom for these two amazing children!

Jefe'palooza

Jeff and his friends celebrated jefe'palooza last weekend by doing what they love. Scares me to death, but he needs it to live. It is definitely his passion.

Dilbert

When people ask me "how's work going?" I wish I could just point to a Dibert cartoon. This guy just nails it on the head every time!

10 Years & Still Going Strong

April 25th marked 10 years of wedded bliss for Jeff and me - can you believe it? I bet the night we called our parents and told them we were going to Vegas to get married none of them thought we'd be married this long! I still can't believe Jeff has put up with me for this long - or should I say "had the luxury of catering to me" for this long. We are both so lucky to have each other and two wonderfully amazing children. THANK YOU to Grandma Chewy and Grandma Judy for watching the kids while we relaxed in Las Vegas for a couple of days--and MUCHOS GRACIAS to Grandma Chewy for the added responsibility of watching the dog, Charley--I thought about you while I was getting my hour-long aromatherapy massage at the Mandalay Bay Spa. I'd like to end this post by saying we won a load of money in Vegas but I'm not one to lie. We had fun, though!

Jeff = Best Dad in the World

So Jeff REALLY IS the best dad in the world - and husband, too. I've been trying to finish my MBA and taking a lot of classes; this semester I had a class that met every other Saturday, all day. One Saturday, Jeff took Peyton and Ashley to the Foothills Learning Center where they volunteered to make a quail habitat (that's what all those sticks are for). Another Saturday was right before Easter and Jeff took the kids to the park for an Easter egg hunt (Peyton's the one in red in the middle of all the other kids). They always manage to have a lot of fun without me! Thank goodness that class is finished and I'll be completely done with my MBA on June 9th--I'm so excited for summer I can't stand it! Rafting, camping, wearing flip-flops, reading for fun, the list goes on and on! Most importantly, spending time with my TERRIFIC HUSBAND and wonderful kids.

McCall, Here we come

As many of you know, we recently purchased a town house in the resort community of McCall ID with Grandma and Grandpa Chewy. We moved furniture in this weekend and thought we would post pictures and invite all of you that are able to read this to come on up for a weekend of rafting, boating, fishing, hiking, golfing.

Soccer Time!

Would you believe we woke up to snow on Wednesday morning and then had soccer practice that afternoon at 5:30? You gotta love Spring in the Northwest. Peyton's first game was last week and let's just say that playing and having fun is much more important than the score. Game #2 is tomorrow - and as much as it doesn't matter, Peyton enjoys it a lot more if his team scores at least one goal. I apologize that I did not get any good shots - I'll try harder tomorrow. At least this picture of the cheerleaders turned out great.

After 7 1/2 Years of College...

After all my schooling, time, money, aches, pains, etc. you'd think I'd be able to figure out how to format this damn blog. I give up. HTML, XML, CSS, RSS--all a bunch of BS! I need to quit trying to keep up with my cute sisters-in-law and just accept the fact that their blogs will always be cuter than mine. I, in turn, will relish in my ability to create spreadsheet after spreadsheet.
