Happy Mother's Day

A mother will…

wipe a snotty nose
bandage a bloody knee
clean a soiled bottom
cut fingernails
launder dirty clothes
wash dirty hands and faces
provide a healthy snack
drive carpools
lug backpacks and toys and junk/treasures
create school projects
help with homework
play barbies and legos and videogames
push the swing
catch at the bottom of the slide
give high-fives
resolve conflicts
mediate disputes
help cross the street
hold hands
rub a tired back
sing a lullaby
build confidence
provide sympathy
give hugs

and she’ll do them for otherpeople’s kids, too!
